iGR's DJs and Staff What's New In The News

DJ DrakeDJ Drake: changes his schedule.

Check out Drake's schedule

DJ GirlieDJ Mason: We really want to welcome DJ Mason to iGR. If you didn't know, he is DJ Katt's son, and has proven to be a fantastic DJ. His song selection is great but it's his voice and personality that keeps everyone coming back. We have had nothing but great comments about Mason. If you have not heard him on the air yet, you need to.
Check out DJ Mason's schedule

DJ MosesDJ Moses: He has finally returned! It's great to have Moses back on the air. I know that so many of you have missed hearing him and his wonderful music collection. Welcome back Moses!
Check out DJ Moses' schedule

PennyDJ Mantis: After taking off for most of December 2010 to take care of personal commitments, Mantis is back on the air! We have always enjoyed Mantis and his "odd" personality on the air. Great to have you back on Big 10'incher!
Check out DJ Mantis' schedule

Celebrating 2 years on the air!!

2 years on the air is a huge accomplishment for us. We really want to thank all of you, our listeners and of course, the DJs of iGR as well. Like any other open forum/public broadcasting media it's you who make it all worth while. Your presence, your comments and chats are what it's all about.

We are here for you and to entertain you. I anticipate that we are doing that and keeping you engaged. We have seen a lot of DJs come and go during these two years and I have to say, we have a great bunch of DJs and I am happy to work with them.

For our 2 year event, we also reserved the domain iGR.fm. You can still use iGlobalRadio.com, but we will be promoting the new domain, iGR.fm

If you ever have any issues with iGR, good or bad, please let me know. Email me directly at Drake@iGlobalRadio.com.

New DJs - As we mention on the air all the time, we are looking for DJs in just about every time-zone you can imagine.
Christina Aguilera
As she butchers the U.S. National Anthem

Okay, you have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! A professional singer, who memorizes words and songs all the time cannot remember the words to our own National Anthem? This was a total disgrace to her and to U.S. citizens.

I have to say, when I saw Charice sing the National Anthem I was made aware that they have and enforce the proper way perform the song. I know the U.S. does as well, but it's not enforced. Maybe it's time we do that. This showoff mentality of these performers trying to 'show' people their range and how talented they are is ridiculous. This is not their day. It's the day for the two best teams of the NFL to come together and compete.

She looked like Cyndi Lauper back in the day when she started out. Her vocals were bad as well, she screamed most of the way through the song, she butchered it along the way.

Considering that this is the most watched sporting event in the U.S. all year. Approximately 100+ million viewers (1 billion tuning in and out) you really would think the person singing the U.S. National Anthem could learn the words.

Any one interested in becoming a DJ for iGlobal Radio, please fill out the online application
or email DJ Drake directly - Drake's email

If there is anything you would like to see in the monthly iGlobers News, please
send us an email and let us know. Next month's iGlober of the Month will be chosen
within the next couple of weeks. Whomever is selected will be notified and asked to
write a short bio and information about you and iGR.

Again, we really would like to thank all the listeners and the DJs that have been a part of iGR for these past two years. On to YEAR 3 !!!!

The TWINS (Packey)
Packey

(U.S.A.)

“The TWINS”

This 3rd issue of iGlobers newsletter is very special because iGlobalRadio is celebrating its 2nd year being on air on the internet. Thus, we are featuring a special iGlober for this month. It is no other than the PACKEY TWINS! Yes, it’s Packey twins. Maybe, you have already met them in the iGR chat room few times. We picked them to be the iGlobers of the month because it is also their second year being an iGlober and been tuned in to dj Drake since he started almost 4 years ago.

The Twins have been listening to and supporting Internet Radio stations since 1999 back when most shows were on Earthcam. They've flown to Europe to visit with a number of Djs and station owners. Through Internet Radio they've met and become friends with people on at least 3 continents!

They heard Drake on an Internet Radio station when he first started DJ'ing. They found his shows fresh and enjoyable and despite what he says, he's not shy at all. They couldn't wait to hear the Elvis song that begins his show and the shows were always over too quickly. Drake eventually left that radio station and started iGlobalRadio where there are great DJ's and fun chat room. Through iGR, they've gotten to meet a lot of interesting people and some serious characters.

Packey shared, “I have interests that are somewhat solitary in nature including owning and running my own observatory. Internet Radio and particularly iGR gives me a connection to the world I normally won't have and keeps me company when things are quiet. The twin and have become friends with Drake and have dinner with him at least once a month. We almost always go out for SUSHI!! Hmmm.. Sushi...”

If you want to share your iGR story, please feel free to send your entry to my email address, bry@iGlobalRadio.com. You might be featured on the next issue of iGlobers Newsletter.

Happy 2nd Anniversary iGlobalRadio!!!

This year, the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards will be full of all your favorite, and maybe some not so favorite, musical artists and talents. There's over 100 artists nominated but I am just outlining these 4 categories.

However, I am just outlining these 4 categories. My own picks are highlighted in RED, let's see how close or far-off I am picking these out.

I would love to see B.o.B. with Record of the Year, but I think Lady Antebellum will take it.

The ACADEMY
Watch it live on ABC at 8pm ET/ 5PM PT
Sunday, February 27, 2011

The 83rd Academy Awards show will be a star-studded show full of fun and entertainment.

Best known as the organization behind the movie industry’s most prestigious honor,
the Oscar, the Academy encourages excellence in filmmaking through a range of
coveted awards. While the Oscar statuette – a symbol admired around the world – acknowledges the very highest level of achievement, every form of Academy
recognition, be it a certificate, plaque or other form of trophy, carries significance like none other in the world of movies.

No doubt this will be, as always an entertaining event. After the show, they will be able to say "my movie was better than yours!" I love movies, but have never been what I would call a 'movie-buff'. Like in music, I like most any type, action-packed and sci-fi are definiately my favorites.

LimeWire Superbowl XLV's Half-Time Show & TV Ads
by Drake - February 12, 2011 - Email Drake

Well, what did you think of the half-time show? Personally, I thought it was horrible. The Black Eyed Peas sounded so off-key to me. Fergie was simply screaming the whole time. One thing they are known for during their shows, is their choreography. Well, where was it? I do think however, that was partially due to the outfits they were wearing. Those heard thick leather outfits with lights could not have been too comfortable, so I give them a pass on that one. But the vocals? UGH!

I loved it when Slash came out. That was a pleasant surprise. He played perfectly as he always does. Usher was as perfect as he always performs as well. It was good to see him during the show. At least it showed some real talent out there and that at least he can perform flawlessly with about 100+ million people watching.

The best TV ad for me was the Volkswagen ad with little Darth Vader advertising their all-new 2012 Passat.

Apparently I was not the only one who thought so. This ads from what I have read has won a social-media play award.

I did think there were too many commercials this year. I'm not sure what the 15-30 second ads cost this year during the game. Maybe it was less that last year since there were so many TV ads. However expensive the ads were, it has become a huge thing to watch all the superbowl commercials. People are clammoring to see what wild ads will be created for this one special event.

No matter, this little Darth Vader was cute and you could almost see the surprise on his face, even under that helmet when he made the car activate. It was priceless!

Valentine's Day
Monday, February 14, 2011

Yep, that's right VD is here yet again. Now honestly, contrary to popular belief, I am or I can be romantic. I just don't show it on the air LOL. But Valentine's Day to me is another commercialized day that Hallmark created to up their sales. No matter who there may have created the day, you can bet it was a woman that did it. :)

No matter what I think. It is a HUGE day for those "in love" and a huge day for those not in love. Many couples will be out on their annual Valentine's Day date for dinner, drinks or movie and dancing.

Just remember guys, you are supposed to treat her like this EVERY DAY, not just on this one day. So get it together!

This year Valentine's Day falls on a Monday, which means that I, dj Drake, will be on the air playing all those wonderful LOVE songs that you all want to hear. As I mute my sound and play some real music here locally in my office. LOL

For all of you out there that celebrate Valentine's Day, I wish you all the best and that you have a great day/evening with your special someone.
